10 Facts From 'Best Western Movies

1.THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN (2016)
The 2016 remake shares the same plot of previous westerns like El Dorado and 'Pale Rider' whereas the main antagonist in all three films are corrupt businessmen or land barons and their minions terrorizing small towns into giving up their land and an outsider coming to their rescue and help put up resistance.Did you also know?!,Although Steve McQueen's character survives in  the original movie,Chris Pratt's character Josh Faraday, who is clearly based on McQueen's,dies similarly to Queen's another character in the movie Hell Is for Heroes.In that movie, McQueen charges a pillbox with a live satchel charge and sacrifices himself at the end.
2.TOMBSTONE (1993)
In almost every closeup throughout the film, Michael Biehn doesn't blink,To portray the wild-eyed, steely ferocity of Johnny Ringo. He finally blinks near the end of the film, indicating that he has lost his nerve in his climactic fatal gunfight with Doc Holliday.Did you also know?!,Willem Dafoe was the original choice to play the character Doc Holliday, but distribution company Buena Vista refused to distribute the film if he was cast.The reason being Dafoe's role in the controversial movie  "The Last Temptation of Christ that released in 19'88.
3.TRUE GRIT (2010)
Mattie's conversation with the coroner, about the high cost of preparing her father's body, is similar, to The Dude's and Walter's discussion about the price of Donny's urn,in another Ethan Coen Coen's film  titled 'The Big Lebowski' which  also Stars Jeff Bridges,that came out in 19'98.Did you also know?!,Hailee Steinfeld's Character Mattie Ross, has the most screen time and also considered as  the protagonist in the film.But in many of Award shows, including Academy Awards,She was nominated for the category 'Best Supporting Actress' rather than best actress.
4.PALE RIDER (1985)
This is the last Clint Eastwood western film where he plays the type of role that made him a movie star, A nameless character,known in this movie as the Preacher.It would also mark the last time he would ever have a beard in a movie ,though he did have some facial hair when first seen in the movie  Unforgiven that released in 19'92.Did you also know?!,The one  of two western films starring and directed by Clint Eastwood, in which the ending implies that Eastwood's character is possibly a ghost,The first being 'High Plains Drifter' that released in 19'73.
5.UNFORGIVEN (1992)
The Screenplay of the movie was written by David Webb Peoples around 1970's, and the script floated around Hollywood for almost 20 years. In the early Eighties, Director Francis Ford Coppola got the script and met with John Malkovich to offer him the role of William Munny. Malkovich rejected the script,  and suggested Clint Eastwood, for the role.By Clint Eastwood's own recollection, he was given the script in the "late Eighties" although he did not immediately pursue it, because he wanted to do other roles. He later said that he waited purposely until he had the right age and he was in the right place of his career. 

6.COWBOYS & ALIENS (2011)
The Film was Conceived in 19'97 based on the concept pitched by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg who worked as a president at Malibu Comics,He developed this concept to publish as a graphic novel and rights to make a Film,was bought by Universal Pictures and Dream Works.The Film was in Development Hell for a Period of 10 Years and  pushed back for years, and several big named actors were attached to the project at various points. Actors such as  Robert Downey Jr., Brendan Fraser, Chuck Norris, Kurt Russell, Bruce Willis and Jackie Chan, all considered but, eventually dropped out or being replaced. After the graphic novel was published in 2006, development on the film was begun again, and Favreau signed on as director in September 2009 with Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford cast in lead roles.

7.THE QUICK AND THE DEAD (1995)
One of the controversial filmmaker helped  director Sam Raimi, to fix the ending of the movie.The Original ending written by Raimi didn't work,so he asked the production studio,Song pictures, for a writer to fix it.The Studio suggested Joss Whedon,who saw the movie and wrote an alternative ending for Raimi in one afternoon.

8.THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES (1976)
Originally,the movie was to be directed by Philip Kaufman,but was replaced by the actor Clint Eastwood,on October 24, 19'75, which was a controversial move that prompted the Directors' Guild of America,to institute a ban, on any current cast or crew member replacing the director on a movie.The rule, which has ever since been titled the "Eastwood rule." Part of the bitterness between Eastwood and Kaufman was a result of both men asking female lead Sondra Locke,who was still married to Gordon Anderson,out to dinner on the same night. Several cast and crew members were unhappy with Eastwood's decesion, and felt that Kaufman is the one who had done a lot of the work like locations,the costumes and Casting Dan George for which Eastwood later took credit. 

9.DJANGO UNCHAINED (2012)
During the Dinner Scene,When Leonardo DiCaprio's Character Calvin Candie, smashes his hand on the dinner-table, DiCaprio accidentally crushed a small stemmed glass with his palm and began to bleed for real. Even though he was Injured,he ignored it and stayed in character, and continued with the scene. Director Quentin Tarantino was so impressed that he used this take in the final print, and when he called cut, the room erupted in a standing ovation. The idea of smearing blood with his bandaged hand onto the face of Kerry Washington was suggested by DDiCaprio and obliged by Tarantino.

10.THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY (1966)
One of the line said by Tuco was improvised by the actor Eli Wallach.The Line During the scene where Tuco takes a bath and Elam, the one-armed bounty hunter suprises him at a Gun Point.Tuco immediately shoots Elam using the gun he hides in the water,After shooting he says, "When you have to shoot, shoot, don't talk!".This improvisation by Wallach apparently caused the whole crew to burst out laughing. Eli was a little suprised by the crew's reaction, because he thought that what he said was actually pretty sensible and not meant as Joke,but his delivery and the look on his face made it a Hilarious take.
